Not every child will like this surreal, Kafka-esque story about a Nose in search of "a place just for me. A place where I can fit in, and stick out." But those young listeners/viewers captivated by author Schwarz's unabashedly nonsensical tale and illustrator Stewart's mysteriously magical paintings are in for a memorable and dream-like experience. Wherever the Nose goes (he is self-propelled by two elegantly-trousered legs emerging from his nostrils!), he seems to become the center of an unexpected face. This book is funny, jarring and, yes, weird. Some kids will love it.
