Fall 2018 MusicFor wacky, sunny fun (and expert musical chops) don't miss this debut album from The Green Orbs (brother-sister duo Eddie RosenBerg III and Heather Hirshfield). Performed with notable flair, these inventive rock and jazz tunes careen from the title track (among the combatants "pushing their digits to the limit" are a mummy, a pickle, a slug, a sous chef … and Abraham Lincoln). A ceiling-dweller named "Doug the Bug" offers the slightly alarming assurance that he will clean your rug, the more crumbs the better; and that he does sweaters, too. Commercials for "Monster Spray" ("Buy it and be monster-free today"), complete with a list of fast-talking disclaimers about possible side effects, tickle funny bones. You'll find substance and sweetness here, too. "Robert Broccoli" feeds the birds in waltz time. "The Duck of Whistleburg" a story-song, shows that caring for a new friend doesn't mean caring less for an old one. A sampling of other tracks: "Ruby the Tooth Fairy" is the "fairy sleuth" who's on the job when that loose tooth is lost before it makes it under your pillow; and the oh-so-helpful "Twelve Steps to Eating Your Veggies" (Step 1: "Don't freak out, you're gonna get through this.").
