Get Out of My Bath!
Fall 2015 Picture BooksEllie is enjoying some playtime in the bath with her rubber ducky, when their bathtub is invaded by far too many animals for comfort! After a mouse joins the crocodile, tiger, and flamingo that are crashing Ellie's bath party, Ellie decides it's high time she had her bath to herself again. But how can this poor elephant get all the other animals to leave?
This highly entertaining story is a treat to read, in or out of the bath. Get Out of My Bath! follows the lead of books like Hervé Tullet's Press Here, in asking young readers to do physical actions with the book in order to see an effect on the illustrations; for example, they shake the book from side to side and view waves on the next page, and tilt the book to the left to see all the water flood to one side of Ellie's bath. The story itself is tightly written and funny, and the illustrations are bold, bright, and expressively drawn. The text design helps beginning readers by changing the text formatting of expressive words and separating distinct phrases into different fonts. Get Out of My Bath! will be a bath-time favorite for young readers and their grownups.
