Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Spring 2015 TelevisionBooyakasha! This isn't your older brother's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This remake of the famous franchise is somewhat more sophisticated than one would think and boasts an impressive list of voice actors including Seth Green, Sean Astin, Josh Peck and Mae Whitman. True to its comic book origins, the show follows the adventures of four tortoise brothers, trained in the art of Ninjustu. Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo, here known as Leo, Raph, Donnie and Mikey, are still fighting the evil alien horde, but are also learning lessons in leadership, brotherhood and problem solving. Like the Four Musketurtles (if the Musketeers loved pizza, puzzles and pranks) this quartet is better working when working together. Although it has plenty of action and story, underneath is a nice message of brotherly love and cooperation. Guest voice stars such as Jon Heder in a hilarious send up to Napoleon Dynamite that will delight parents, as will the many pop culture horror movie references—minus the horror of course.
