Review:

It's been some years since Brady Rymer and The Little Band That Could first emerged to claim one of the top spots in the field of quality family music with an authentic roots rock beat, effervescent bounce and notably creative lyrics. With this terrific new Kickstarter-funded release, there's no sign of that changing anytime soon. Brady and his happy crew apply their signature sophisticated harmonies and muscular musicality to 11 entertaining, imagination-stirring tracks as varied as "Ice Cream Girl" ("when the sweet summer sun is rolling high, I hear that bell and I start to fly") and the nostalgia-infused "Red Piano Rag," a jaunty and soulful tribute to "Grandma Helen," who passed on her ragtime torch to the next generation and the one after that in her "little red house on Popcorn Lane."

And then there's the exhilarating, transcendent "I Spin": "Faster, and faster and tighter and tighter I spin, wider and wider and brighter and brighter I grin, eyes wide open as big as the sun, laughing as my hair comes undoneā€¦" This exceptional album is a definite keeper.
