D is for Django

Fall 2014 Music
Ages: 4 - 9 yrs.
Producer: Django Jones
CD Price: $15.00

Comprised of Doris Muramatsu, JJ Jones, and Nate Borofsky, and named after Muramatsu's charismatic Chihuahua mix, D is for Django brings together nearly an hour of catchy original songs and lively between song banter. "All I See," is a catchy, neo-folk about self-confidence. "Pop," a great tune about everyone's favorite movie snack, includes a compact history of popcorn, and is set to a, well, "pop" rhythm. "Jack of All Things" is a fun, purposely off-key song about life's infinite possibilities; "Counterpoint" explores opposites in a very creative fashion, and "Smallest Breed" demonstrates that size doesn't matter. Elsewhere, "Bigfoot" is a 50s style hilarious tribute to people who are a little bit "different," and favorite foods and nutrition are explored on the folksy "Potato Leek Soup" and on the hunger inducing, banjo-fueled "Breakfast." Maintaining healthy bodies is covered on the They Might Be Giants-ish "Germs" and the joyful wordplay of "Bones." Other highlights include the wistful "Everyday At This Time It Rains," and two lovely nighttime songs "Love You Like I Do," and "Lullabies." The album finishes up with a beautifully gentle rendition of a traditional kundalini mantra "Long Time Sunshine." Django Jones brings a wonderfully quirky sense of fun to all they do. D is for Django is refreshingly original, intelligently programmed, the music recorded with crystal clarity, and the CD is packaged with a full book of lyrics and notes.
