Universe
Spring 2013 Non-FictionWith so much information available directly from the internet, the value of a comprehensive reference book might not be apparent. But the internet guides us toward the information it thinks we want, diminishing the chance of random, unexpected discoveries. That is not the case with a book as expansive as DK's Universe: The Definitive Guide. Skip to its index and you will be able to find answers to specific questions, sure. The real value of the book, though, is in flipping through it and having rich images of stars, nebula, and whatnot catch your eyes.
A lengthy introduction yields to a Guide to the Universe before launching into a section on The Night Sky. Expect this well-produced book to last through many casual readings and all night sessions of astronomical discovery.
