Monkey in a Barrel
Spring 2013 ToysThis puppet could be "more fun than a barrel of monkeys" because it is a barrel with a monkey inside. The barrel's false bottom is the hand/arm opening, and the manipulation areas include the monkey's two front paws, a large head opening, and a tiny area for the mouth. Three fingers can easily be used simultaneously to create a fascinating array of expressions, gestures, and bodily positions—including pulling the monkey completely inside the barrel and flipping the lid for concealment. A believable story about a businessman who invested in barrels of monkeys is attached, and numerous additional children's books about monkeys could also be incorporated into hours of fun and learning.
