Crazy Cakes

Crazy Cakes

Fall 2012 Games
Ages: 6 & Up
Manufacturer: Fat Brain Toys
Price: $24.95

In Crazy Cakes, players attempt to be the first to stack twelve layers of cake in the order shown on one of one hundred "recipe" cards. Up to four players can play at one time, and all try to build the same style cake. Whoever stacks their layers first wins. While this is an entertaining game, it also helps kids develop hand eye coordination, sustained attention, and the ability to work under pressure, all of which are important skills for school. Because the layers have different colors on each side, the game also requires some level of planning. Our testers ages 6 to 12 had lots of fun with this game. It is especially good for children who need to improve their attention skills and their ability to work quickly in timed situations. This game will enhance these academic skills without the child even knowing it.
