My boys love new characters. Whether it is a stuffed animal, a plastic toy or animal, or in this case three cute, odd-looking puppets, my boys like to welcome them into their world of toys. It took only a couple of tries to get my boys to use the puppets correctly (actually moving their moths and making them talk,) but soon the puppets had become a 'center' in my kids' pretend daily classroom routine. The packaging is colorful and inviting, and the puppets which are very simple are well constructed, colorful, and fun. There were no instructions (none really needed) but the box does provide some ideas for the use of the puppets. I really enjoy toys which encourage my children to be creative, and these certainly do. As far as educational value, I think that this is up to the parent with this toy. I can certainly think of ways to use these puppets to teach my kids things like role-playing to get an idea across, or using the puppets to introduce new topics, and to challenge my sons to come up with creative plays on their own. If used creatively, this toy could stimulate a lot of quality creative time with one's children. I'm sure that there are a lot of puppets out there to choose from, and If given the choice my kids may have chosen something flashier, but these little guys are simple and fun and I would recommend them to any parent looking for an additional creative outlet for their kids.
