Reader Rabbit and his friend, Sam the Lion, are ready for another adventure. While exploring a strange island below them, Rabbit and Sam find their Dreamship captured, forcing them to escape to Balloon Town. Complete eight mini-games to help Reader Rabbit and Sam the Lion collect the five musical instruments they need to wake up the sleeping Bulldozer guarding the palace holding the Dreamship. The mini-games teach key kindergarten skills such as pattern recognition, memory matching, reading comprehension, rhyming, basic phonics and math. Each of these activities can be completed in English, French or Spanish (set via Wii console).

Upon landing in Balloon Town, players choose to go either to Cozy Cove or Bubbleopolis on the Piggy Plane. To use the Piggy Plane, they must match the number of balloons to the number shown on Piggy’s necklace. Various additional mini-games include: Cocoon Balloon Patterns, Oyster Memory Matching, Silly Phonics Slide (listen to the word and choose the missing letter/sound), Bounceketball Dunk’n Rhyme (match the bounceketballs that are labeled with rhyming words), Snail Mail Sorting, Scrambled Stories (put story pages in correct order) and Bubble Wrapper Reading (place words in correct spots). Each mini-game features multiple, easy-to-change difficulty levels to add to the variety and diversity of game-play. Cut-scene video clips are interspersed with the activities to keep children interested and engaged. The game also includes an interactive, illustrated map for navigating through the various games and activities.

It’s refreshing to find a video game that you can allow your children to play guilt-free: it’s fun, visually appealing, wholesome and educational.
