Hexactly
Spring 2011 ToysThe Hexactly building set includes twenty-four brightly-colored, durable, wooden hexagons in five different configurations: single hexagon, two, three and four hexagons joined linearly, and three-hexagons joined non-linearly. The set includes a full-color, illustrated building guide with twenty suggested designs, but the possibilities are truly endless. Younger children can use the Hexactly pieces to arrange two-dimensional designs, while older ones can build in three-dimensions.
The set teaches early math and geometry skills and terminology as well as shape and color recognition. The visually appealing, easy-to-handle pieces are natural tools for developing hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. One of the most appealing characteristics of the set is its versatility; eight year old testers enjoyed it just as much as four year olds. That alone will make it a keeper for many families.
