PiGZUP!
Fall 2010 GamesAlthough the object of this game is simple (be first to build a stack of cute little piggies), reaching that goal incorporates a remarkable series of visual, counting, and manipulative skills that youngsters need to master. First, players flip numbered cards until two players reveal matching cards. They then both race to complete stacks of the requested number of piggies. But it's not just a matter of piling the piggies one on top of the other; there are rules requiring dexterity. A die is rolled to designate one of three styles which must be used to place the piggies. "One Hand" means the player must pick up and stack the piggies using only one hand. "Fingers" requires the player to use only the left and right pointer fingers to pick up and stack the piggies. "By the ears" tells the player to pick up and stack the piggies using only their ears. Players enjoyed the varied challenges.
