Review:

The Mobicip Safe Browser's intuitive design is easy-to-use. It looks almost identical to the preferred Safari browser resident on many Apple products. Mobicip loads fast and has the same history, bookmark and tag functionality as Safari. Drawn in by the appealing splash page, our young testers found and began using Mobicip even before we'd had a chance to introduce it for testing.

The Mobicip browser's homepage has links to safe educational content like Wikipedia, HowStuffWorks and KidsClick as well as a Dictionary/Thesaurus. And while some of these links require patience to click through layers, fun and worthwhile educational content awaits.

Searches on inappropriate content produce a simple "access is denied" message and a link to the Mobicip website where a parent or administrator can, if they desire, change the filtering level. There are three age-appropriate levels: elementary, middle school, and high school.

As the leader of a Parents' Choice Awards testing group, I disabled Safari on my iPhone using the Restrictions settings, which made Mobicip the default browser. For younger kids especially, it's wonderful, they don't think they're missing anything. However, as with any type of restriction, savvier 'tweens and teens, might grumble. But grumbling from your kids about having the Mobicip Safe Browser on their iPhones is just another way of saying "Thanks Mom; I love you too."
