When our panelists first reviewed RobinAge in 2009, it was clear that the publishers were committed to producing a weekly educational newspaper for the young people of India. In our first evaluation, our panelists concluded that the publication designed for students ages 7-14, had room for improvement.

Now, in its second year, we see things more clearly. The goals and objectives are solid. The editors raise the bar for the students of India. The content covers monsoons, geography, and issues facing the citizens of India. Sports, culture, and technology are featured. Games and puzzles challenge young readers. And it's all written in English. Why English? Because, as the publishers state, "English is the language of global communication and it is essential for every person to be able to speak, read and write it." If that weren't enough, each edition offers a doubled sided one page pull out section titled EOTO, Each One Teach One, designed for readers to help teach fellow citizens functional English, both spoken and written, use games, puzzles and written exercises. That the publishers devote resources to a campaign asking young citizens to help teach others English is laudable.

Yes, our panelists would like to see a cohesive design style; several simple changes would yield dramatic results. But this ambitious weekly newspaper has a lot to teach us all. So we say, congratulations, RobinAge. We can't wait to see what you do next.
