Review:
The playing pieces of this game are beautiful enough to make the game play visually, as well as strategically, appealing. On a five-by-five grid, the goal is to control the most territory with playing pieces of one's own color, which consist of two “base” pieces (large disks) and three sets of four concentric rings. Base pieces are not scored and serve primarily to separate the scoring pieces. The first piece played is a “wild-card” base, painted with rings of all four colors. In turn, each player puts a base or a ring in any free space, provided that it is vertically or horizontally adjacent to one that contains a base or a ring of their own color. When all pieces have been played, the winner is the one whose color is on the majority of rings on each space. Although the game is for two to four players, it is best with four.
