Chem C1000
Fall 2004 ToysMemories aside, this kit does a wonderful job of making chemistry quite fun. Although current safety restrictions allow for limited chemicals provided, many of the experiments can be performed with additional common household chemicals like vinegar or water or sugar, etc.
The handbook, an excellent motivation for kids to play, experiment and learn, presents many different chemical concepts using a series of experiments that children can try - and then present to others in the guise of a magic trick. Most of the 75 experiments revolve around acid-base experiments, but also included is flame-testing with a candle, and breaking apart water (using a lantern battery, which is not provided in the kit.)
The caution and safety notes are prominent, so be sure and adhere to them.
