Children's recording artists commonly make musical observations of the trials and tribulations of growing up. Not all do it with the keen-eyed, tuneful empathy that California-based artist Robbo brings to his ego-building, real-life songs about classroom troubles, bullying, teasing, grandparents, wearing braces, being homesick, Little League strike-outs, and much, much more. The songs reach out to adults, too: "Sing Me Another Song" is lump-in-the-throat lovely, about a son and father who eventually must exchange roles as the years go by. The telling thread that runs through the entire album is the message that "Everything we do becomes our story….Everything we do becomes our life."

A long list of celebrities perform expressive spoken-word introductions to the tracks—Wilford Brimley, Teri Garr, Linda Gray, Julie Hagerty, Robert Duncan McNeill, Laura San Giacomo, Henry Winkler and many others—but Robbo (Robb Zelonky) and his sensitive, rich child-empowering songs earn top billing.
