This Land Is Your Land
Winter 2002 MusicReview:
Stirring, inspirational and filled with all-embracing warmth and acceptance,
this beautiful celebration of shared humanity leaves no one out, young or
old. Ted Danson reads excerpts from the writings of Woody Guthrie;
narrations
by Danny Glover include "Ballad of the Underground Railroad," leading into
"Follow the Drinking Gourd," poignantly sung by Eric Bibb, Linda Tillery and
Taj Mahal; and Maya Angelou's poem, "Human Family." Other heart-songs that
strike the chord of commonality include Raffi's "Like Me and You," "Somos el
Barco," sung by John McCutcheon; and Freyda Epstein's tender lullaby,
"Dreams of Harmony" ("Wherever You Rest Your Head Tonight/We Are All One
Family/Let's
Hold Tight...").
